Directions to The Aston Workshop from North of the River Tyne.

On the Newcastle western bypass (A1) heading south. You will drive down over the Tyne, and then past the Metro Centre on your left. Go past the Metro Centre, under the exit for Whickham, and past the feed-off lane (A184) for Gateshead. Get into the left hand lane which is a feed-out for the roundabout for the A692 to Consett.
Follow the signs for the A692 Consett & Sunniside, which is a right turn at the roundabout. Follow this road straight for about 3 miles to the village of Sunniside. At the end of the village is a garage on the left situated at the traffic lights, followed by a turning, signposted A6076 left to Stanley.
Take this left turn, and drive for about a mile. You will come to the crest of a hill, with a long straight road ahead of you. You will see a white pub called the Causey Arch Inn on your left. 50 yards before this is a road turning to your left, running between the pub and the Beamish Park Hotel. Take this. (Don't worry if you miss it, there is another directly after the pub car-park). Follow this back lane for roughly half a mile, past a farm on your left. On your left you will see a large green building - our workshop, and the entrance is on your left, after the electricity 'A' post.
You know you've gone too far when you pass the Black Horse pub set back on your left!

Directions to The Aston Workshop from Chester le Street.

Follow the A1(M) until you reach the turn off for Chester-le-Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.
Take this road, and head for Stanley. After crossing two roundabouts, you will come across a third, roundabout where the signs for Beamish Museum tell you to turn off to the right - take this turn.
Just in front of the arched entrance to the museum, there is a left turn, which you must take.
Keep on this road down into the bottom of the valley, past a high wall on your left and through a very sharp left-hand turn, past the Coppy Lodge on your right, until you arrive at a 'T' junction, with a hump-backed bridge to the left. Turn right at this junction, the road goes up then levels out and then up and levels out again.
You will now see The Black Horse public house on your right set back from the road down a short lane - go just past that turning to the next bend in the road. On your right you will see a large green building - our workshop, and the entrance is on your left, just before the electricity 'A' post.

Directions to The Aston Workshop from Newcastle Airport.

Immediately outside the airport is a roundabout, signposted left along the A696 for Newcastle and the A1. Join the western bypass (A1) heading South, which is the third exit at the big roundabout.
You will drive down over the Tyne, and then past the Metro Centre on your left. Go past the Metro Centre, under the exit for Whickham, and past the feed-off lane (A184) for Gateshead. Get into the left hand lane which is a feed-out for the roundabout for the A692 to Consett.

Directions to The Aston Workshop from Carlisle.

Take the A69 from Carlisle to Newcastle. When reaching the A1 (M) head South until you reach the turn off for Chester-le-Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.

Directions to The Aston Workshop from Consett.

From Consett drive towards Stanley. Once in Stanley, drive straight over the first roundabout and on the second roundabout take the second left hand turn, heading towards Gateshead.
Keep on the right hand side of the road until you come to a small roundabout. You need to go straight over this and follow the road. You will pass under a bridge at the bottom of the hill and you will pass a Petrol Station on your right.
Continue along this road for about 1 mile until you see a white pub called the Causey Arch Inn on your right. Just after the Causy Arch is a road turning to your right, running between the pub and the Beamish Park Hotel. Take this. Follow this back lane for roughly half a mile, past a farm on your left. Directions to The Aston Workshop from Edinburgh.

From Edinburgh, take the A68 joining the A696 straight through to Newcastle.
Once into Newcastle, follow the signs for the A1 (M), and get onto the motorway Southbound.
Continue on the A1 South until you arrive at turn off for Chester Le Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.
Take this road, and head for Stanley. After 4 miles or so, the signs for Beamish Museum tell you to turn off to the right.

From Coventry, you will need to take the M69 Northbound to join the M1 Northbound at junction 21. Continue on the M1 until you are able to join the M18 in the Sheffield, Rotherham, Maltby area. From the M18, link onto the A1 Northbound at junction 2.
Take A1 North until you arrive at turn off for Chester Le Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.

Join the M6 going North-bound.
Turn off at Junction 38 onto A685, traveling through Kirby Stephen to Brough.
Take a right turn onto the A66, and join the A1 Northbound at Scotch Corner.
Continue on the A1 North until you arrive at turn off for Chester Le Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.
Take this road, and head for Stanley. After 4 miles or so, the signs for Beamish Museum tell you to turn off to the right.

Directions to The Aston Workshop from North Shields Ferry Terminal.

Leave the ferry terminal heading west until you reach the A19.
Take the A19 south through the Tyne Tunnel.
Turn right onto the A194 for Durham, Chester-le-Street and Washington.
Continue onto the A194(M) going south for Durham, Chester-le-Street and Washington.
Continue onto the A1(M) going south for Durham and Chester-le-Street.
Follow the A1(M) until you reach the turn off for Chester-le-Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum.
