To celebrate Bob Fountain’s success at the Peking to Paris endurance race, The Aston Workshop has teamed up with Beamish Hall to offer one lucky winner a taste of the Aston Martin lifestyle.

The prize includes an exclusive guided tour of the Aston Workshop, the opportunity to test-drive a classic car of your dreams and a sumptuous 4 course meal for two at The Eden Restaurant in Beamish Hall.

Bob and his team mate Joseph De Giorgi joined 100 participants from all over the world as they drove the 12,000 miles from Peking to Paris in a restored 1934 Lagonda M45 Tourer. They successfully completed the Challenge, winning a silver medal after finishing the race in 14th position.

To celebrate, Aston Workshop and Beamish Hall Hotel will treat the winner to a behind the scenes tour of the Aston Workshop including the £500,000 paint and body centre with state of the art restoration facilities. They will be introduced to the team who are responsible for restoring classic Aston Martins back to their former glory using traditional craftmanship and time honoured techniques.

After the tour, the winner will go on a (fully insured!) test drive in the classic car of their dreams, a beautifully restored Aston Martin and following this exhilarating experience, they will head to Beamish Hall Hotel for a four course meal to complete the Aston Martin experience.

The Eden Restaurant is a grand room in Beamish Hall offering beautiful views over the hotel grounds through the large bay windows. The high ceilings and the decorative plastering make this the perfect place to order a martini – shaken not stirred.

The winner will enjoy a sumptuous four course feast choosing from dishes such as steamed scallops in Chinese pancakes with chilli sauce to start, followed by grilled lamb cutlets with a cream mushroom sauce for main course and brandy snap filled with duo liquor sorbet for dessert as well as liquours and coffee of their choice to complete the meal.

To enter the competition, simply answer the following question:

What position did Bob and Joseph finish the race in?

Email your answer to astonworkshop@aston.co.uk with your answer, name, and phone number. Closing date is 31 December 2007. Employees of Aston Workshop, Beamish Hall Hotel and Uniquethinking PR are exempt from entering this competition.
