Having found it very
difficult to source the required standards of
Engineering and Workmanship elsewhere, we made the
decision several years ago to invest heavily in our own
facility.
With the aim to be able
to produce "The Best In The World", we have
selected some of the most advanced computer controlled
engine re-manufacturing machine tools available today.
Combined with our intimate knowledge of a wide variety
of Aston engines from pre-war to present day, we have
the Ultimate Facility for re-manufacturing your Aston
Engine.

Following is a brief
description of re-manufacturing equipment.

Superflow Computerised Dyno
Testing And Development
We use our engine Dyno as an
evaluation tool to measure power characteristics of your
engine. It will tell us not only how much power, but
where the power is in the speed range.
For performing research and development, you can
evaluate modifications one-at-a-time, or as a complete
system. For race engines, you can ensure that the engine
is right before it runs on race day. Develop on the Dyno,
race at the track.
Whatever the engine's purpose, we can use the Dyno to
perform a quality audit, to ensure that the engine does
what it's intended to do, before it's too late. Quantify
the results of any modifications to prove that we have
built the engine we meant to build.

Rottler F65 Computerised
Machining Centre
The very versatile F65 enables us to
perform boring, line boring, block decking, skimming,
tapping and general milling to within very fine
tolerances using the latest tooling.
Cylinder heads can be surfaced using
Rottler's exclusive levelling table and universal
tooling. Optional surfacing software allows multi-pass
programmable depth of cut with roughing and finishing
settings for precision finish after material removal.
This function is excellent when a large amount of
material is to be removed. This table can also be used
for angle milling intake and exhaust faces.

Rottler Honing Centre
The Rottler cylinder hone employs
the latest technology available for today's engine
builder. The innovative control panel makes honing
easier and more accurate than ever before. Rottler
Manufacturing continues a lasting tradition of
introducing state of the art machine shop equipment to
the engine builder. Quality, service, and technical
support is built into every Rottler machine. The bottom
line is greater control and efficiency with increased
profits for today's machine shop.

Hines Balancing Centre
The Hines Balancing Centre allows us
to balance all the necessary engine components to
exacting limits, whether it be pistons, conrods, any
type of crankshaft, flywheel pulley or damper, all our
balancing is fully documented on "Balance
Sheets" with the V8's having the additional
"Bob Weight Card".

Serdi Millennium Cylinder Head
Machining
Our Serdi has been adapted to include
a rugged clamping fixture which means we can cut valve
seats to an exact height right across the head, this
eliminates the need to "Tip" valves to get
the required tappet clearance. We have a wide range
of tooling which enables us to cut and throat the valve
seats to any shape, angle or width that is necessary
for both flow and durability.
Fully floating and self aligning the
Serdi is considered the very best multi angle cylinder
head machining centre, precision alignment of valve
train is guaranteed and to the very highest tolerances.

Magnaflux Crack Testing Machine
Crack testing using Magnaflux to
ensure the the very best in durability and reliability.
All our crank shafts are crack
tested before grinding, this process magnetises the
crank shaft drawing particles into cracks. These
particles are illuminated using an ultra-violet light.
State of the art equipment gives us
the competitive edge if you require the very best
quality engineering for racing and performance engine
rebuilding.
Our investment in the latest
machines allows us to achieve repeatable high standards
throughout the range of processes that we offer.

Tolerance And Blueprinting
We work to tolerances closer than
the original manufactures guidelines in all areas of the
re-manufacturing operation.
All of our measuring equipment is
supplied by Mitutoyo and is independently calibrated to
ISO 9001:2000 standard, this ensures the highest standard of
measurement accuracy.

Boring And Honing
Cylinder bores are finished to
standards and tolerances far superior to those envisaged
when the engines were designed.

Line Boring
Line boring of crank case using
C.N.C. technology instead of the usual boring bar
techniques, eliminating bar deflection and inherent
inaccuracies. Ensures block reconditioning to blueprint
standards every time.

Decking And Skimming
C.N.C. controlled material removal
coupled with technologically advanced cutting tools.

Cylinder Head Machining
Perfect valve train component
alignment is assured by use of our Serdi Cylinder Head
machining centre.

Valve Seat Insertion
When boring out for valve seats, we
use Serdi pre set cutters. This gives us the optimum
interference fit. Fitting of valve seats is done after
heating the cylinder head in an oven to approximately
160ēC and freezing the valve seats in liquid nitrogen.
This eliminates gaulling of the valve seat in the bore
during insertion.

Welding And Reclamation
Areas of high corrosion, and
cracking can be repaired before any machining is done.

Engine Building
All our engines are built in a
sealed, dust-free environment. All components are either
re-manufactured by us or are brand new from O.E.
manufacturers.

Engine Development
Using our experience and expertise,
we can develop engines to meet with any requirements of
the customer, whether it be for the race track, fast
road use or the ultimate "bullet proof"
engine.

Cleaning, Blasting And
Refinishing
We can use a wide range of cleaning
methods to bring your components back to their original
state, whether it be caustic, acid, chemical or blasting
using different types of media to get the required finish.

General Engineering / Component
Manufacture
Whether it be the removal of a
broken stud or the manufacture of the more complex
obsolete component, we can usually meet our customers
requirements.
